2 weeks left to my 10 months of service

So there are only 2 weeks left to my 10 months of service, and I'm wondering where the time has gone. It seems only yesterday that I was arriving in Liverpool, nervous and unsure what the next months would bring. And now I'm filled with conflicting emotions.

I'm excited to go home to what I know so well, yet sad to be leaving those I've met during my service. Many have left memorable marks on my life; they have helped me grow. My experiences as a VV will definitely help in the future, I for that I am grateful. But for now, I'm going to enjoy my last few weeks in the UK and create a few more lasting memories!

A little about me...

I was raised in a military family, so I grew up all over the place, from Louisiana to Germany. The past few years I lived in North Carolina and attended college there. I’ve recently graduated from Western Carolina University with a degree in Social Work. I wanted a gap year because I felt I needed a change. I was after something different and where I could gain some experience. Not to mention it sounded like quite the adventure! It was simple how I found the VVs. A quick search online for service programs and the Vincentians came up. I feel incredibly lucky that I was given this chance! The program has afforded me the opportunity to grow in myself and my faith. I’m certain my experiences so far will prove useful in the future.
