After Seven Month...

We're now seven months in, and after our last gathering together I am renewed in the understanding of why I undertook this year. Despite the feeling that I thought it may be slightly negative to return to Sandymount (before the end) it actually worked out well and has given me a tangible sense of both looking back, and looking to the future. I am now in a position that is perhaps even more appreciative of the time I have left on the programme, as although it feels as though it is going very quickly I am happy in a sense that I have taken stock before looking back from the finish line. In short I feel a burst of renewal, am also really enjoying the final spurt of sunshine which has made everything seem a little brighter.

A little about me...

I am from High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire. I studied Theology, Culture and Society at the University of Manchester until September 2010. As I approached the end of my course, and time at university I started thinking about previous hopes to do a year volunteering. I stumbled across the Vincentian Volunteer programme through a chance suggestion from my aunt. I looked at this very website, and read about the previous members of the VV family. I felt it had everything to offer: a community to build a home in, a chance to strengthen in my character and the opportunity to really do something tangible for others.
