Today was the first time I joined women`s group. Women`s group is kind a meeting of the female core member. In the women`s group we are doing a lot of things like cooking, baking a cake, making a card, doing exercise. We started the meeting by asking how do I feel today and what was happen with us in a couple days before. Everyone was telling their feel and I told them that I felt so happy being there for the first time. It wasn`t easy for core member to tell how do they feel. Some of them can`t speak properly or get confused with the question. But we tried to encourge them to share their feeling.

After that we had a massage time. It was the relax time for them. Each asisstant massaged one core member. I got the oppurtunity to try it. One of the core member always cover her face with her hands and bent her head. I massaged her for the first time. She looked relax and enjoyed it. One thing that I remember is she was looking at me and didin`t bent her head (that was for the first time). Then she said `Thank You`.... I felt that I can give them peace and love to the `poor` people by the very simple thing.. Love this day! :)

A little about me...

I was born and grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia. I'm studying Psychology with education major at Atma Jaya Catholic University. I've not graduated yet. This is the first time I have come to England and to be honest the first time im going abroad. So this is a kind of new experience, trying to live in the country with different cultures. The reason why I want to come is just so simple, I want to do some service. I want to serve God through the 'poor' people. Maybe I wouldn't have got this opportunity in the future so prefered to postpone my study and come to England. I knew about VV from last year's volunteer. She explained everything about VV and their mision for 'poor' people. I was really interested with it so i decided to apply. Also I read about VV from the website. I'm so happy in my work placement. getting the new experiences and serving God through 'poor' people. Im so glad to have Lucy and Peter, living with the community and growing together in the name of Lord. We spend time together, share our sadness and happiness.
