Myers Briggs Weekend

Where: Lisieux Hall, Chorley
When: 28th - 29th October, 2011

Presenter: Sr Maureen Tinkler

By the middle of November it is time for the volunteers to have a little more input into understanding themselves and others a little more. The Myers Briggs weekend gives everyone the opportunity to look at themselves and their companions, to notice and rejoice in their differences!

The Myers Briggs Type Indicator is the work of two Australian psychologists who, after looking at some of the theories of Carl Jung, worked out 16 personality profiles which show people’s preferences and attitudes, in the way they view the world, take in information, make decisions, and how they express themselves in their daily lives.

The process is achieved through answering a questionnaire, which is self scoring, and in which there are no right or wrong answers, only the delight in showing that it is alright to be different!

By the end of the weekend most people have understood a little more themselves and their gifts, and the giftedness in those with whom they are living. It is usually an easy, relaxing weekend where differences are appreciated and accepted!
