In November the volunteers spend some time together doing a Myers Briggs workshop. The Myers Briggs Type Indicator gives everyone the opportunity to discover more about themselves and others, to celebrate their gifts and to rejoice in their differences!
The Myers Briggs Type Indicator is the work of two Australian psychologists who, after looking at the theories of Carl Jung, worked out 16 personality profiles to show people’s preferences and attitudes in the way they view the world; take in information; make decisions; and how they express themselves in their daily lives.
The process is achieved through answering a questionnaire, which is self scoring, and in which there are no right or wrong answers – just the acknowledgment that it is alright to be different!
By the end of the weekend most people have understood a little more about themselves and their gifts, and the giftedness in those with whom they are living. It is usually an easy, relaxing weekend where differences are accepted and appreciated!
Sandymount House of prayer is an old house, five minutes from the sea, and where the hospitality is second to none. It is the perfect place for reflection and relaxation!
